A Piece Of Life

The old man takes a look at himself
out of a piece of a mirror
And he speaks to himself:

"The time has not come to a standstill
but it seems to me
that all has been yesterday
Where has it gone
my piece of life?"

The time has not come to a standstill!
"Look! This is my piece of life!"

Ein Stück Leben

Der alte Mann blickt sich an
aus einem Stück Spiegel
Und er spricht zu sich:

"Die Zeit ist nicht stehengeblieben
doch mir scheint,
als sei alles gestern gewesen
Wo ist es hin
mein Stück Leben?"

Die Zeit ist nicht stehengeblieben
Sieh! "Mein Stück Leben!"
